How do I restore my website from a backup?

By Windy Hosting • April 21, 2026

To restore your website from a backup in Plesk, log in to Plesk and open Backup Manager for the correct backup location. Depending on how the backup was created, this may be under Tools & Settings for a server-wide backup or under Domains > your domain > Backup Manager for a subscription backup. Then select the backup you want to restore from.

If you only need part of the website, choose Selected objects instead of a full restore. In the restore options, select Files of domains, then add the file or files you want to restore. This lets you restore specific website files instead of replacing everything in the backup.

A restore can overwrite current files with the older version from the backup. This means any changes made after that backup was created may be lost for the files you restore.

Good to Know: In Plesk, you can restore only selected files from a backup, so you do not always need to restore the whole website.
