An SSL certificate may show as invalid if it has expired, was issued for a different domain name, is missing part of the certificate chain, or is not installed correctly on the website. It can also happen if the website is loading on a subdomain or version of the domain that is not covered by the certificate.
There is a difference between a certificate being installed and being valid. A certificate may exist on the hosting account, but it can still show as invalid if the wrong certificate is assigned, the domain does not match, or the certificate is no longer active. In some cases, the website may also show warnings if HTTPS is enabled but the certificate setup is incomplete.
Good to Know: Before requesting support, check whether the certificate has expired, whether the domain name matches exactly, and whether the website is opening on the correct HTTPS address.
